Jawa 500cc Adventure Motorcycle: Image Gallery
Jawa’s recently unveiled 500cc adventure touring motorcycle, dubbed the RVM 500, caused a sensation. But since this Jawa is not directly connected to the Jawa owned by Mahindra in India, it is unlikely to be launched here anytime soon. Nevertheless, as this is an interesting proposition, we bring you details about the motorcycle through this gallery of images.
The Jawa RVM 500 is based on the Bristol Venturi 500 and shares most of its bodywork and components with the latter. There’s a beak-like fender, tall windshield, and large fuel tank, all in ADV style. However, the styling resembles the BMW G310 GS as well as the Benelli TRK 502.
Jawa’s adventure touring motorcycle is powered by a liquid-cooled 471cc parallel twin engine. This engine is similar to that of the scrambler version and is capable of producing 47 hp at 8,500 rpm and maximum torque of 43 Nm at 6,500 rpm. It is associated with a six-speed gearbox.
The RVM 500 runs on cross spoke wheels; 19 inches in the front and 17 inches in the back. These are wrapped in dual sport tires from Metzeler. As for the suspension, the Jawa RVM 500 uses inverted forks with 195mm of travel and a single shock with 85mm of travel. Meanwhile, braking is provided by two 298mm discs at the front and a single 240mm disc at the rear accompanied by dual-channel ABS.
As for the feature list, the Jawa RVM 500 offers a decent package. It sports full LED lighting for the headlight, tail light as well as turn signals and dual channel ABS. A semi-digital instrument cluster is also standard. In addition, Jawa also offers the motorcycle with optional saddlebags and racks.
