Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled Fasthouse launched at Rs 10.99 Lakhs
Last year Ducati and Fasthouse had collaborated and the partnership saw American rider Jordan Graham win the Hooligan class of the Mint 400, America’s oldest and most prestigious off-road race.
Commenting on the launch, Bipul Chandra, Managing Director of Ducati India, said:
“The Desert Sled Scrambler is one of the best performing off-road bikes in the segment and our customers in India have recognized it. That’s why only 800 people worldwide can have it! When we opened reservations to our dealer network, the initial allocation for the Indian market was exhausted within minutes. “
The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled Fasthouse is based on the regular Scrambled Sled and features a unique livery that pays homage to those on the bikes used in the Mint 400 off-road race last year.
The main livery colors are black and gray which form a cool geometric shape on the fuel tank which also sports the Fasthouse logo alongside that of the Ducati Scrambler. The frame is painted in Ducati Red and is embellished with an aluminum plate bearing the unique number of the motorcycle (out of the 800 units).
The seat height of the Desert Scrambler Sled is 840mm above the ground and the rally-inspired footrests have removable rubber pads. Both fenders are painted black.
The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled Fasthouse is powered by an air-cooled 803cc L-twin engine that produces 71.8 hp at 8,250 rpm and 66.2 Nm of maximum torque at 5,750 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with straight cut gears and a slip clutch.
The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled Fasthouse features a tubular steel trellis frame with inverted 46mm forks up front and a Kayaba single shock with 200mm of travel at the rear with preload and rebound adjustment as well than a double-sided aluminum swing arm.
Braking is provided by a 330mm disc brake on the front wheel with radial 4-piston calipers and a 245mm disc brake at the rear with a single floating caliper. The brakes are aided by Bosch dual channel ABS.
The front wheel is a 19 inch spoke unit coated with a 120/70 R19 tire. The rear wheel is a 17 inch spoke unit that sports a 170/60 R17 tire. The tires used on the Desert Scrambler Sled are Pirelli’s Scorpion Rally STR which combine the best performance of an off-road tire with that of a street tire.
